The Ford Battery

All the components were available individually for servicing

 

Original A-10660 Battery case assembly. The entire case has a subtle texture, absent in the modern replacements. The original Ford script has a sculpted appearance.

The earlier version of this case had lifting holes in the ends of the case (see parts photo). In late 1929 they were eliminated by altering the mould. The result is evident in this photo.

This view shows the individual cells where the plate assemblies are inserted. After assembly, the seams form a trough that is filled with a molten tar compound.

The bottom view shows the supplier's logo and Manufacturing date. In mid '31 they changed to an alphanumeric date code.
